Today's Hear&Do! is the continuation of the Bishop's message on the opening night.
Yesterday, we learnt that in spite of the corruption in the world, we can still live differently, as Samuel did, even though he lived with Eli's sons, who were corrupt and did not know God.
Now, there are three key points about Eli's sons that you should know and avoid:
# Eli's sons did not know God.
# They were womanizers.
# They were thieves.
Bishop stated that we must be spiritually-minded. What are some of the ways we can become spiritually minded?
Bishop then zoomed in to the Call of God. He gave us two ways to perceive the call of God. In the case of Samuel, he heard a voice audibly calling him and the voice was Eli's, but in truth, it was God calling him.
The first way to perceive God's call is that you may hear the call in a familiar voice (sometimes, like that of your pastor)
Secondly, you may see visions or have dreams of seeing yourself preaching.
The man of God prophesied that God would speak to us that night, and He did!
He said, "God is looking for people with innocent minds to talk to."
When God calls you, submit to His calling.
Remember this: the calling of God is a process; it does not mean you have arrived. Remain obedient.
Samuel was a prophet with integrity (see 1 Samuel 8:1-7; 1 Samuel 7:8-10).
DO!: God is calling you to do His work. And what He requires from you is a life of yielding to His Spirit daily. Will you let go, and let God?
REVIEW: What is the key lesson you have learnt from today's Hear&Do? Please share to bless a brother or sister.
