Let's begin with the opening night with our Papa, Bishop Matthew Addae-Mensah.
He started by saying, "You must be a soulwinner." Why?
Well, he went on to say that if you are a Christian and you don't know how to win souls, IT'S TOO BAD! Those who win souls are wise! (Proverbs 11:30)
The best way is to know God and to stay with His Word.
"If you are hoping to achieve something, let Jesus be in you."
Genesis 1:11 says, "Then God said, 'Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.' And it was so."
At this point, Bishop asked a very striking question: Have you seen a dog giving birth to a cat before?
That's absolutely impossible! Because the cat is not the dog's kind that it must reproduce. So, what was our Papa's point? "If you are a bad boy, you bring forth bad boys as your kind."
Turning to 1 Samuel 2:12, we began to examine the difference between the lives of Eli's sons and Samuel. It was very insightful. This is what I advice you to do- go back to those portions we studied (1 Samuel 2 - 3)
"That your parents are Christians does not mean you will be a Christian. Even though Eli's sons were sons of a priest, they were corrupt and did not know God." (1 Samuel 2:18)
If you are in any ungodly habit, repent and make a commitment to serve the Lord wholeheartedly.
Just as Samuel received favour with God and men, may you also receive favor with God and men! When you walk uprightly before God, there are good things.
Honour God with your life and He will honour you. (1 Samuel 2:30)
DO!: Even though Samuel lived in the midst of corrupt people like Eli's sons, he lived differently. In your office, school, or community, there may be so much corruption, BUT you can be different. By honoring God with your life through Iiving by His Word, you can set a good example for those people and bring after your own kind.
REVIEW: What is the key lesson you have learnt from today's Hear&Do? Please share to bless a brother or sister.
