It's so amazing how many events in the New Testament (especially in the life our Lord Jesus Christ) sharply contrast those of the Old. Psalm 1:1 says,"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, nor stand in the way of sinners".
According to the above text, what really showed that a man was 'righteous' how far he could stay away from ungodly, wicked and sinful men. But let us look at the Master. He was always found among sinners (Matthew 9:9-13; Luke:8, 7:36-39, 19:1-10, John 8:1-11).
Not that He condoned sin. But now, the question is: was Jesus not blessed? He sure was! In fact, He was a blesser (Matthew 19:13-15). Our righteousness and salvation are not complete until we get out there among the sinners and win them for Christ. One way, Jesus Christ must be our message and one job, evangelism must be our passion.
